The editorial policy of the journal is based on the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications (Russia), the Code of Conduct and Guidelines for Best Practices for the Editor of the Journal and the Code of Conduct for the Journal of Publishers, developed by the Committee on Publications Ethics - Committee on Publication Ethics:
Ethical standards of: Authors, Journal editors, Reviewers for the scientific journal "Vestnik of North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov. Social Sciences".

Duties of the Publishing House:
˗ copyright protection based on the Creative Commons license: cc by-nc-sa (Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike) - License with attribution;
˗ a policy of open access to the journal by the type of the "Platinum" model, when the main financing of the publication is carried out at the expense of the founder.

The Publisher provides:
- The publisher not only supports scientific communications and invests in this process, but is also responsible for compliance with all current recommendations in the published work;
- The publisher supports the principles and procedures that facilitate the implementation of ethical duties by editors, reviewers and authors of the journal "Vestnik of North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov. Social Sciences".

Editorial board has the right:
˗ to edit articles without changing the scientific content of the author's version;
˗ to turn down the articles which do not satisfy the Journal's requirements and themes;
˗ to check the article's singularity through the "Anti-plagiarism" system;
˗ to place the information sent to the Journal on the site in free access mode, and to include it into Russian and foreign libraries as well as into data bases (See: articles 1286 and 1238 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation);
˗ to publish authors' personal information in the Journal;
˗ to store manuscripts of articles and contracts with authors for 5 years, and provide them on demand to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Duties of Editors:
Decision on publication
The editor of the scientific journal "Vestnik of North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov. Social Sciences" is responsible for the decision to publish, often in cooperation with the relevant Scientific Society. The reliability of the work in question and its scientific significance should always be the basis for the decision to publish.
The editor may confer with other editors and reviewers (or officials of the Scientific Society) at the time of the decision to publish.

The editor should evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, origin, citizenship or political preferences of the Authors.

Editor and Editorial Board of the journal "Vestnik of North Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov. Social Sciences" are obliged to disclose information on the accepted manuscript to all persons, except for Authors, Reviewers, possible Reviewers, other scientific consultants and the Publisher without special request.

Disclosure policy and conflicts of interest
Unpublished data obtained from the manuscripts submitted for consideration are not used in personal research without the written consent of the Author. Information or ideas received during the review and related to possible benefits are kept confidential and not used for personal gain.

Editors should withdraw from consideration of the manuscripts (namely, ask the Co-editor, Assistant Editor or cooperate with other members of the Editorial Board when considering the work instead of self-reviewing and making a decision) in the event of conflicts of interest due to competitive, joint and other interactions and relationships with Authors, companies and, possibly, other organizations associated with the manuscript.

The Reviewers' Responsibilities:
Impact on the decisions of the Editorial Board
Reviewing helps the Editor to make a decision about publishing and, through appropriate interaction with the Authors, can also help the Author improve the quality of his work. Reviewing is a necessary link in formal scientific communications, which is the basis of the scientific approach. The publisher shares the point of view on the fact that all scientists who want to contribute to the publication are required to carry out substantial work on the review of the manuscript.

Sense of Duty
The reviewer, who feels that he does not have sufficient qualifications to review the manuscript or does not have enough time for quick work, must notify the Editor of the journal "Vestnik of NOSU" and ask to be excluded from the process of reviewing the corresponding manuscript.

The Author's responsibility:
˗ the information the author presents in the Journal should be original, up to date and contain some elements of new knowledge creating;
˗ the author bears responsibility for the correctness of the mentioned names, citations, formulae and figures;
˗ authors provide personal data that are relevant to the manuscript, according to ALPSP-STM Statementon Data and Databases);
˗ the author should not submit a previously published article to another journal.
